A busy transport firm’s large new depot includes shower and toilet facilities fitted out with RESCO compact laminate product which the depot manager Denis Laws says “should hang tough for many moons”.

The new freight terminal, base for over 100 Mainfreight team members north of Hamilton, opened in June 2015 and features a gym with associated facilities including eight male and five female showers built a user-friendly 1.5 times larger than standard size. Using RESCO’s 7000 series cubicles and Multicom wall lining was an “easy choice” says Denis Laws. “It wasn’t on the original specifications but as soon as the builders bought a sample in we were pretty keen, it looks tough.”

Previous experience meant the company was looking for a cost-effective option for their high-use ablution facilities which were potentially “continually damp”. “We’ve had cheaper options in terminals in the past and have ended up having to replace everything,” explains Denis. “The new facilities look outstanding. They will be easy-clean, low-maintenance and definitely a long-term solution.”

RESCO product specialist Troy Henriques acknowledges Mainfreight’s high priority on quality and cleanliness of their facilities for their team and points out RESCO’s products assist with this in both cubicle system style – simple lines, rebated doors, no dirt traps – and substance; all Resco panels (including the Multicom wall lining) contain Antibac, an innovative new bacteria-repelling compound that kills 99 percent of bacteria within two hours, for the lifetime of the panel.

Says Troy: “We only use rugged, solid core Compact Laminate. Our pre-finished panels are water, impact and graffiti resistant and extremely low maintenance. We supply a range of products with New Zealand’s largest choice of colours, which we confidently back with lengthy guarantees.”
