RESCO congratulates the architects who at a function in Tauranga on Friday night (May 1) were announced winners in the 2015 NZ Institute of Architects’ Waikato-Bay of Plenty Awards, and is proud to be associated with five significant buildings which received awards.
Notable buildings for healthcare, policing, education and sports figure highly in this year’s awards, which honour and recognise quality new architecture at a community level. These include five which contain RESCO’s quality Compact Laminate products in restroom and ablution areas, as specified by their architects:
Kathleen Kilgour Centre, a patient-centric radiotherapy clinic in Tauranga (Commercial Architecture Award for Wingate + Farquhar);
Rotorua Police Station Te Amo Whakaruruhau (Commercial Architecture Award for Leuschke Group in association with Vincent Chrisp);
Bay Oval Trust Carrus Pavilion, the new home for Bay of Plenty Cricket (Public Architecture Award for Jasmax);
Avantidrome at Cambridge, a world class velodrome which also hosts a range of other high performance sport and community facilities (Public Architecture Award for Chibnall Buckell Marovic Team Architects Ltd);
Wintec’s Hamilton Engineering and Trades Facility for 1000 students is a building praised by the award judges for a design with services and structural systems left on display as a tool for aiding student understanding of a working building (Education Architecture Award for Chow Hill Architects Ltd)
RESCO’s solid core Compact Laminate product is perfect for all wet and high use areas such as those in the award-winning buildings detailed above. Our rugged panels are water, impact and graffiti resistant, extremely low maintenance and contain an innovative bacteria-repelling compound.
