  • Busy 12-court badminton facility opts for Resco Compact Laminate

    November 2, 2017

Auckland Badminton Hall’s changing facilities refurbished to endure with Resco Compact Laminate Series 7000 cubicles and Multicom wall linings. An overhaul of Auckland Badminton’s home on Gillies Ave in Epsom was completed in time for use by the World Masters Games in April 2017. Architect Karl Barker (Construkt Architects) says the approximately $750,000 job of reconfiguring and refurbishment of the building’s administration and ablution areas was “long overdue”, with no work of note having been done in these areas for around 30 years. Karl says in addition to working within a budget which called for “making the most bang for their buck” and fixed time frame, they were mindful of ensuring the new facilities would stand the test of time better than the previous ablution areas had. “People can be a bit rough on sports facilities, and part of our brief was to ensure the renovations had the capacity to Read More »[...]

  • “Future-proofed” requirement met by Resco at Taupo De Bretts Spa Resort

    October 5, 2017

Resco Compact Laminate partitions, wall linings, vanities and screens fulfil hot pool and holiday park complex owner’s industry leading goal In their quest to operate an “industry leading” business, Taupo De Bretts Spa Resort directors Barry and Carolyn  Kirkland have travelled throughout New Zealand in their campervan in the past 18 months “to have a look and most importantly use the facilities, to find out what works and what doesn’t”.  Says Barry, “I’m quite convinced holiday park operators have ideas but don’t end up actually using their facilities, so they don’t really know what’s working for them”. Barry, who bought the property and business from what was Dominion Breweries 30 years ago, admits experience has taught him the value of facilities which tick hygiene, environmentally-friendly and long-lasting quality boxes. “We’ve learnt the hard way and made mistakes along the way,” he says. “Resco is more expensive, but we now know Read More »[...]

  • Resco Compact Laminate delivers “village change room” concept at Albany Stadium pool.

    August 7, 2017

Ablution facility “village” concept, a first for New Zealand, features colour coded unisex facilities. A feature of the Auckland Council’s popular Albany recreational pool is the changing room and ablution facility “village” concept. Popular in Europe and the UK, but a first for New Zealand, the design provides changing rooms with doors colour coded according to use instead of the traditional large gender-divided facilities. Toilets are also unisex and set in two rows adjacent to changing cubicles. There are two sets of open showers. Changing room options, denoted by door colour, are single, double, family or baby. The coloured Compact Laminate doors were specially imported from Resco’s supplier, and under design instructions Resco constructed extra-height Compact Laminate cubicles ensuring maximum privacy. The result, says Albany Stadium Pool manager Tanya Langenbach, is a “fun, friendly” look with clean lines and a robust Resco system which is withstanding heavy use and the Read More »[...]

  • High school opts for Resco Compact Laminate panels for hardy, hygenic benchtops in food tech lab

    July 10, 2017

Longburn  Adventist College near Palmerston North recently relocated the school’s food tech lab teaching area to be adjacent to the 260-pupil school’s dining room and commercial kitchen. The new fit-out required numerous units including long bench spaces. Roger Marshall, property manager for the school’s proprietor, The NZ Seventh-day Adventist Schools Association Ltd, says he knew exactly who to call when he found the local unit makers unable to supply benchtops within the school’s time frame. Resco Compact Laminate ablution and toilet cubicles are already in place in some of their 16 schools throughout New Zealand says Roger: “Resco are a great company to deal with, we have an excellent long-term relationship with them. They give very good service – in this case at short notice and they delivered on time – and the product is top quality.” Roger says both he and Resco’s product specialist Troy Henriques are confident the Read More »[...]

  • ChemLab Resco benches safeguard AsureQuality’s food testing division work

    June 12, 2017

The staged upgrade of AsureQuality’s 4,900 sq m food testing laboratory facility includes top-of-the-range Chemlab benches from specialist Compact Laminate company, Resco. The Blockhouse Bay (Auckland) laboratory’s project manager Jarid Van Wingerden says the refit reflects ongoing growth in the work of this state-owned-enterprise. Up to 120 staff work in the microbiology laboratory facility which operates at some level every day of the year, explaining the utmost importance of AsureQuality’s exacting criteria for their laboratory surfaces to be met. Jarid says they got samples of products available and “used and abused them” before making their choice for Resco’s Chemlab in the non-stock white colour, emphasising the overarching concept of sterility. Says Jarid: “We needed to know the material we used had durability, adherence to regulation, scratch resistance and was impervious to liquid. Our cleaning and sterilising agents can be corrosive, so we needed a material that survived all that, for Read More »[...]

  • Robust Resco Panels and Partitions Brighten School Toilet Block

    May 9, 2017

Resco Antibac Panels and Partitions provided optimum hygiene and resilience while adding vibrant colour to the upgraded Glen Innes School toilets. The senior school toilet block at Glen Innes School hadn’t been renovated in approximately twenty years and was well-worn and out of date. The school wanted a toilet block that could not only handle the traffic of 140 students each day, but would also be welcoming to students. Facilities that were low maintenance and robust were a priority, but the school also asked the students what they wanted in order to deliver a toilet block they could be proud of. “We actually did a survey, so the kids felt input into the design,” explains Jono Hendricks, principal of Glen Innes School. The survey was open to all senior school students, who shared that they wanted colour in their toilet block and requested more ‘upmarket’ basins than the ‘trough style’ Read More »[...]

  • Low maintenance Resco Compact Laminate preferred for Fieldays site

    April 10, 2017

The New Zealand National Fieldays Society’s 114ha Mystery Creek property south of Hamilton hosts events large and small, year round. Unsurprisingly, ablution facilities which are both robust and easy to clean are considered vital by management. Resco’s Compact Laminate Series 5000 toilet and shower cubicles and Multicom wall linings have been used widely on the Mystery Creek Events Centre site, most recently in a changing room/shower block rebuild, and a toilet block, says operations manager Richard Ferdinands. In addition to all the muddy boots generated at the huge annual Agricultural Fieldays, the site plays host to other events such as corporate challenge groups and stay-over festivals and camps, all bringing their own high use and cleaning demands. “When you’re dealing with so many people you need to be able to have a quick and efficient clean,” explains Richard. “The Resco systems allow us to do just that during events.” Richard Read More »[...]

  • Sturdy Resco Series 7000 Partitions Selected for New Blues Training Facility

    March 3, 2017

Extra height, super-hardy Resco Series 7000 Compact Laminate toilet cubicles were specified for the new Blues Super Rugby base. At their Alexandra Park location, the solid core Compact Laminate cubicles are part of changing room facilities which include showers and hot and cold plunge pools that both Blues players and visiting sports teams may use. Understandably the interiors team at Auckland firm Ministry of Architecture + Interiors opted for the toilet cubicle Resco describes as “the most robust system on the market.” Resco manager Troy Henriques explains: “It is perfect for such locations where there is a good amount of tough use. This system can even cope with players doing chin-ups on the headrail.” Troy says Resco’s pre-finished panels contain an antibacterial compound and are water, impact and graffiti resistant. “In addition to these benefits, the architect wanted a non-standard height for this facility so we made the systems taller Read More »[...]
